xAI Grok 4.6 Now Available on Amazon Bedrock

Amazon Bedrock announced that xAI’s Grok 4.6 launched on the platform on August 18, 2026. The model offers a 500 K token context window and four configurable reasoning effort levels—low, medium, high, and xhigh. It is the second xAI model on Bedrock, following Grok 4.3, and can be accessed through both the bedrock‑mantle and bedrock‑runtime endpoints, supporting the Converse API, Chat Completions, and Responses.

Grok 4.6 is targeted at long‑running agents, complex coding tasks, and knowledge‑work workflows. Training incorporated a longer supplemental run with curated model‑generated data, engineering data, and reinforcement‑learning tasks across domains such as kernel optimization and CAD. The model shows more self‑testing on extended trajectories and stronger first passes on visual or interactive projects. Safety safeguards have been expanded with extensive pre‑deployment and third‑party testing.

On Bedrock, Grok 4.6 supports cross‑region inference (Geo and Global profiles), Guardrails, invocation logging, and prompt caching. It is offered in three service tiers—Standard, Priority, and Flex—with pricing starting at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, subject to change.
